Work done at Chimpanzee

Gardens Canada

The Gardens Canada website was the result of a year long research project in cooperation with botanical gardens and arboreta across Canada. A few years after its initial release, we were approached for changes and upgrades to the Network.

The initial project encompassed one site, gathering information from gardens across Canada and incorporating into one national brand and website.

The new project expanded upon that. The focus switched from one website to many with a re-tooling of the Gardens Canada website and brand – to operate as a hub to their other networks.

The new project included gardendays.cacanadasgardenroute.ca, gardendays.ca, gardencouncil.ca and the Canadian Garden Tourism Conference along with 8 regional microsites for garden networks across Canada.

I coordinated the design and development of these websites, translating the client’s needs to both designers and developers while working closely with the Chimpanzee sales department and management. I tested and reviewed the sites for quality standards. I implemented content migration tracking and strategies for the websites with existing content and created content collection for the 8 regional microsites.

I worked closely with the clients for domain transfers and hosting as well as reviewing their site changes and new requests after reviewing the sites both during development and after the sites had gone live.

This project is still ongoing in 2017.
